Once Upon a Country Road
Once Upon a Country Road (Book Set)
By: Lucy McConnell
MY RATING: 5 STARS
Once Upon a Country Road is a beautiful set of stories written by Lucy McConnell. I have previously read once of the books in this set as it was featured in the Harvest Ranch Romance series, but it was very enjoyable reading all 3 of these stories as a set.
The Cowboy Songwriters Fake Marriage
Xavier is a country songwriter who is struggling to find the music while also trying to manage taking care
of his son and their home. He decides that to save his career he needs to put out a wanted ad for a wife.
Emily, a yoga instructor who is no longer comfortable at her job, can't get the ad out of her mind and
applies on a whim.
Lucy McConnell just took something so simple as want/ISO ads and make it into a lovely sweet romance/
marriage of convenience book. I really enjoyed fake romances but was new to marriage of convenience
stories. I was so pleasantly happy with it. I love how Emily just had the sweetest tones to her but still
allowed for some sass and standing up for herself.
If you like books with romance, family, following dreams, and inspiring others you will fall in love hard with
this book in this set. I highly recommend it.
Readers be aware of: At the beginning there is a small couple paragraphs of harassment/attempted
assault that could cause some to be uncomfortable, so something to keep in mind. It doesn't go into
too much detail and is only mildly referenced after that.

Her Older Brother's Best Friend's Forbidden Kiss
When Ronnie, a town mechanic comes upon a broken down truck she pulls over to help. She is shocked
to see it's her brothers best friend, who also was her childhood crush.
This story had me smiling and giggling like a schoolgirl. It is filled with sass, attitude, flirting, and plenty of
sweet romance related drama. It brought me back to junior high and high school where I was the one
who crushed on my friend's brother.
Ronnie is an amazing character filled with so much personality and overflowing with sass and spunk. I
like that this story broke out of the typical "guy is a mechanic". It was fun to have the change where she
was in that role this time, as it added some great elements to the entire story.
This story was beyond cute and still has me smiling an hour after finishing reading it.

From Best Friend to Husband
This story was lovely! At first I wasn't sure about it with how Judd and Wynn. However, as the book dove
deeper into their relationship and backstories, It was easy to see they belong together. I felt like I was
watching a beautiful Hallmark movie during this book and had a tough time putting it down to go to sleep.
I had previously read this one as part of the Harvest Ranch Romance series. However, since it was
included in this set, I reread it and loved it so much more the second time around. It is one that gets
better and better each time as you learn more about the characters and the lovely town of Harvest
Ranch.

I highly recommend this set of stories. They are so cute with plenty of fun back and forth sassy flirting.
Lucy McConnell is an amazing author who writes lovely stories. I look forward to reading more from
her in the future. Once Upon a Country Road is a great place to start to get a taste of McConnell's
writing styles. She does an amazing job really hooking you into the story and cheering the characters
on the entire time.
