When Elliot gets left on his wedding day, which makes it his 4th failed engagement, his family puts him on dating restrictions for 1 year...he isn't allowed to date, get engaged, or being involved with anyone. He needs time to figure out himself instead. Skyler is best friends and wedding business partners with Elliot's sister. So she is there when it all goes down, and isn't too disappointed considering she has been crushing on him for years. Elliot decides to recruit Skyler to help him figure out his life so his family can see how he has changed. 

Something about weddings in books gets me really excited, and this one was no exception. Samantha Chase did such a lovely job showing the wedding planning side of things, as well as the romance, reality, and of course the trouble that comes in between. I had so much fun reading about Elliot, Sky, Josie, and Leanna. There were funny moments, sweet moments, spicy (but not too spicy don't worry), and ones that made you feel like you may need a tissue to cry a bit. The Engagement Embargo was so fun and while yes I do have a soft spot for books about weddings and best friend brother stories, this was was above and beyond what I hoped for. It was well written, told a great story, and just got you pulled in feeling like you were there.

The Engagement Embargo is the first book in Samantha Chase's Meet Me At The Alter series, and I highly look forward to reading each and every one. A little tip when reading this, keep a tub of fresh cake icing available (you can thank me later).
