Callie is an archeologist that goes out on an adventure with her doggie best friend Chase to research an old petroglyph site. The site happens to be somewhere she had gone with her grandpa previously and she spends time recounting memories, jokes, and the legend of the white doe (which is supposed to bring fortune, riches, love, and adventure). When Callie spots the white doe, an accident happens and she starts to doubt the legend until a handsome cowboy shows up to her rescue.
Kayla Oliver does an AMAZING job describing the gorgeous scenery, it felt like I was actually there with Callie. Be prepared you will begin craving the food mentioned in the book, that is how good of a job Kayla does...in fact I think I may just go get a nice burger or BLT for lunch.
This story had a perfect amount of history, romance, adventure, and humor. I really look forward to future books written by Kayla Oliver and HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone looking for a fun and cute read for an afternoon at home or to read out at a park or somewhere outdoors. Beware though, once you read this beautiful story you are going to want to travel in the middle of nowhere and find yourself a cute cowboy.
