Worth the Risk is a wonderful novel of second chances for romance, family, and even for yourself. When Alicia moves back home to help her mother through illness and struggles she doesn't expect to run into her old best friend, especially at her work. However, Jeff comes in with his date on Valentines and she doesn't want anything to do with him, I mean after all he did leave her at prom for another girl. 

I hadn't read any books by Heather B. Moore before this one, but I can promise you I will be reading more, and she may even become one of my favorite authors based on this story. I really enjoyed how Worth the Risk focused on romance but also improving yourself, forgiving others, and helping others find joy in life again even when there seems to be no hope of improvement. It was a great joy to read through Worth the Risk and watch all of the characters grow into amazing people and work together to find happiness. 

This is the first book in the Pine Valley series. It was a quick read, finished within a couple hours, but very enjoyable. I already have the second book waiting right next to me to begin soon (as well as the rest of the series either purchased or on hold at my local library, yes it's that good that I jumped ahead to get the rest). I look forward to reading more in this series, as well as more from Heather B. Moore.
