A Man Worth Shaving For was such a fun book that I got to read for a book club. It wasn't anything like I expected, but to be fair I did buy it blindly, I was told the name of the book for the month and bought it without reading the blurb. I am SOOOO glad I did. It was a laugh out loud hilariously embarrassing but adorable story that had you cringing for Tessa as things goes wrong, but cheering her on every time she kept going.
Author Michelle Pennington does a lovely job showing fun and lighthearted comedy along with difficulties of dating in the work situation Tessa has. So much in this story was amazingly well thought out, even down to the company name and backstory. I'm so glad I read this book and was happy to see there are 3 more in the series after.
The only reason I did 4 stars instead of 5 was in part to a lot of negative self talk that started to ruin the book for me. I do understand self esteem with being overweight and struggle with it myself sometimes. However, I felt it was brought up so much in this story, that it makes you focus on that rather than the other parts of it. I do highly recommend this book. I am so excited to read more in this series and love the writing style of Pennington.
